Many couple even after three four years of marriage struggle to get their off springs and it becomes a serious concern in the family. Initially it is attributed to certain medical conditions and after ruling out such medical issues, the concern becomes more intense. This article may help such couple.

A classical astrological text ” Jataka Parijata” authored by 14th century Scholar Vaidyanatha Dikshita has a section ” Nisheka vidhih”, Impregnation ritual.

Moon governs fluid matter of women and Mars the blood. Woman is more likely to conceive if she menstruates when the Moon transits in Anupachaya sthanas from Ascendant ( other than 3,6,10,11) and aspect by Natal Mars, or by the transiting Mars. ( Sloka 11 in chapter 3 say Natal Mars and Sloka 16 say transiting Mars) Another condition is Jupiter to aspect Moon on 5th day from the date of menstruation and such a Moon shall not have aspect of either Saturn or Mercury. With my humble experience, I find the Rahu or Ketu also shall not aspect such a Moon on 5th day. The Author now gives the planetary disposition at the time of copulation to guarantee conception.

  1. Navamsa of Sun and Venus in Upachaya sthanas from the Ascendant of Male Or Moon and Mars in Upachaya Sthanas from the Ascendant of Female.

  2. Jupiter in Ascendant or in Trikona ( Ascendant rising at the time of copulation)

  3. Moon in Upachaya shthanas and aspect by Jupiter.

  4. Strictly avoid Krittika, Ardra, Ashlesha, Purvashadha, Purvabhadrapada Stars; Ashtami, Chaturdashi and Amavasya tithis; as well Sankramana days.

Sloka 17 in the third chapter reads that first 16 nights from the menstruation of a woman are termed the season and the first four are not fit. The other nights that are EVEN (6, 8,10,12,14,16) recommended for conception of a male offspring.

There is perfect understanding on calculating the nights. If the menstruation takes place before sun set, that night is considered as 1 st night. If it is after sunset, the next night is considered as first night.

The text also mention about breathing of Man at the time of copulation.

If the breath is through left nostril,( Eda) it will be a male child and if through Right nostril ( Pingala) it is female child. One should strictly avoid copulation when breathing through both nostrils.
